NHSS30 Certification
Other Companies have now joined
FM Conway who became the first company in the UK to obtain certification for the National Highways Sector Scheme for the Installation, Maintenance and Repair of Modular Paving (NHSS30).

National Audit Office warns flood defending is ‘insufficient’
The National Audit Office (NAO) has warned that spending on flood protection in England is ‘insufficient’ to maintain defences. It said half of the country’s defences were only being maintained to a “minimal level” and were likely to deteriorate faster.
Hand & arm vibration risk removed from wacker plates
An improved design of a reversible vibratory plate has been introduced by Wacker Nelson. The improved design now allows continuous operator use as vibrations have been reduced to a value below the required threshold for HAVs.
Report calls for adoption of permeable paving
Landscape and Amenity magazine gave details of a report compiled by the Committee of  Climate Change, which highlights the need for wider use of permeable paving and sustainbale drainage to help fight flooding and pollution.

This is a website where Interlay and the National Highway Sector Scheme NHSS 30, with support from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) have come together to promote training within the modular paving installation industry with these pages to act as a ‘Training Hub’ for operatives and installation companies alike.
Builders get behind flood defense scheme
Construction firms  work closely with the Government to repair a range of major flood defences, following the severe winter weather. Ministers previously announced that a multi-million-pound scheme was currently  rolled out, in an effort to repair some of the damage caused in key areas of the Midlands.
SuDS – A new direction
The National SuDS Conference highlighted a the direction for sustainable drainage techniques such as concrete block permeable paving. SuDS are now seen as a local, design-led issue and integral part of the planning process, not just engineering measures driven by long-delayed legislation.
