Joining Interlay
Founded in the late 1980’s and taken under the wing of the British Precast Concrete Federation in 2003, Interlay is
the non-profit, independent association of paving contractors. We are dedicated to promoting and maintaining the
highest professional standards in the industry. All Members are vetted before being given the ‘Seal of Approval’,
which ensures consumers are given the peace of mind when choosing the best layer.
Benefits of Interlay Membership include:
Interlay logo – Once accepted into membership, the Interlay logo can be used across all company material,
such as websites, letterhead paper, stationery, van/car stickers and any additional advertising you may undertake.
Interlay Website – As a member of the association, your company will be listed on our website, for
Commercial and/or Domestic contracting. The listing will include all contact details plus web links – this can also be
used to indicate your connection with other firms such as Checkatrade.com, Marshalls, Brett, etc. Other features of
our website include the ‘Postcode search’, where customers can enter their postcode or County to search for the
details of quality assured, Interlay members who are willing to work in their area and there is the designated
Members Area, a password protected section which includes advice, Health and Safety Information, past and present
Newsletters and forthcoming meeting information.
Invitations to regular Association meetings – These meetings give members the chance to meet the Interlay
team & fellow members, get advice about current jobs and projects being under taken, find out about changes in
regulation & industry, and take part in discussions about sales techniques, latest construction details &
developments etc;
Interlay Newsletter – The newsletter provides a communication between the Interlay team and its members.
Regular updates are provided on industry developments and changes to legislation, training which may be available,
design and construction standards and other topical stories about our newest members or updates from Interlay
Associate Members;
Representation on BSI standards & HSE groups for paving – Interlay are represented on the British Standards
Institution (BSI) committee for paving, giving you the chance to influence standards development and to hear about
proposed changes first, and get your voice heard. Also represented at special interest groups of the Health and
Safety Executive, including cutting and handling of paving materials;
Technical support is available to members via the Interlay Office to discuss design, materials, construction
standards, safety issues etc;
Associate Members – As an Interlay member, access is provided to Interlay’s Associate Members’ materials
and technical expertise;

The team will send out a detailed application pack, explaining how to apply and what documentation you will need to provide in support of your application. We will be in contact throughout the process, and keep you up dated during each step.
