It gives Interlay great pleasure in congratulating all the team at Paramount Paving for their second win this year! This lovely backgarden and patio area, in Beckenham, Kent, has undergone a serious transformation with impressive results.

There was very little left of the patio, and the garden itself had become vastly overgrown...

After a discussion with the customer, she explained that she wanted the whole garden made over to include a new patio and that the garden area should be kept simple and easy to maintain. 3 designs were produced for the patio, which all included completely leveling the garden and installing a new lawn.

The first task undertaken was to cut a hole, supported by a concrete lintel to the rear wall of the garage, so that the team were able to get a mini digger into the garden, as access was limited.

There was approx. 50 tonnes of materials removed from the garden and then approx. 100 tonnes of new materials used to complete the works, this was all taken in and out by wheel barrow. The paving slabs for the patio were Brett Natural Sandstone paving.

The overall task was hard work for the team, as the garden was 468 square metres that included approx. 12 tree stumps - of which 7 were old oak trees with girths of approx. 2 feet - an old brick shed, 2 old ponds plus grass and weeds approx. 3 feet high.

The customer was delighted with the rennovated works, saying that she had "waited 5 years since moving into the house to have both the garden & patio done, and now it's completed I wake up in the morninings, look outside the bedroom window and cannot believe how lovely the garden looks".
